MSSR M10SR
The M10SR solid-state radar with mode S capabilities was developed with the aim to complement RAMET portfolio of radar surveillance systems. The system has an open and highly flexible architecture, allowing to tailor its configuration to fit clients´ requirements and needs of different sites.
The radar design makes use of the latest state-of-the-art technologies, laying emphasis on reliability of the radar system. The control and monitoring system incorporates both local and remote part which can mutually communicate along a variety of lines. All devices and units of the MSSR are equipped with an independent Built-In Test Equipment for continuous monitoring of all subsystems.
The Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) system is fully ICAO-compliant for civil air traffic control systems, military air traffic control, and air defence operations. The MSSR/Mode S system also meets Eurocontrol requirements. The entire system is highly modular which enables realisation of various configurations according to the customer needs.
It operates in duplicated, i.e. backed-up mode. The MSSR basic configuration has the capability of operating in ICAO modes 1, 2, 3/A, C, B and D. By inserting additional modules, the basic configuration can be easily upgraded to ICAO and Eurocontrol compliant Mode S.
Mode S capabilities are available at the following levels:
Elementary Surveillance or Level 1 – is the All call capability for interrogating aircraft transponders with Mode 1, 2, 3/A, C, B and D capabilities and interrogating ICAO-compatible, Mode S-equipped aircraft with Surveillance Identified Code (24-bit address) and automatic reporting of Aircraft Identification and Altitude reporting to an accuracy of 25 feet.
Enhanced Surveillance (Level 3) - is the additional capability to Downlink Airborne Parameters (DAP) (such as values for Speed, Heading, Roll angle, selected altitude, etc.) from an ICAO Level 3, Annex 10 compliant transponder to the ground Mode S station for ATC purposes.
